The number of complaints and tickets generated by people who want loot referees and TOS language complaints, all cost real $$ in manpower for Blizz. Unfortunately that is not really how it works out though. There’s no need to hide what people find in order to protect people’s emotions. ![]() These would be personal problems not game design problems. Would getting rid of that lessen the feel of the loot hunt? That is why we see what guild members got. The issue is that in a loot finding game, such as in D3, the game is set up to show who got what for a reason. That could be done by having a loot window that shows all drops, but making sure the game does not show WHO actually got which item. IF Blizz were to execute the idea you bring, they would have to prevent the negative “gimmie” people from causing an issue. Blizzard does not get involved in loot disputes, and certainly would not want to play referee! This often escalates into unpleasant encounters. ![]() Those people whisper and pester the player who got the item demanding they trade it. There are, sadly, many people who feel entitled to what they want, even if it dropped for someone else. Depending on how trade works some of those items can be traded, even if only for a limited time with those in the party or on the kill agro table. ![]() However, it comes with some pretty significant other issues. The suggestion you bring is good, in that it does not allow for the person with the fastest connection to grab all the loot. everybody getting hyped at the same time.įor you maybe that is fun. Imagine finding something valuable but your party doesn’t care vs. It also makes it more exciting for the entire party when something valuable drops, not just the person who found the item. If loot is global but allocated, meaning people see all the loot that drops but can only pick up loot allocated to them, it feels like a more immersive and shared world.
